Application process: The IDA program is open to the general public January through December. Applicants are selected in order from the wait list of those financially eligible individuals who have completed all Goodwill application requirements, including all necessary asset specific training and providing the appropriate supporting documentation. The first step though is to schedule a meeting with a Prosperity Planner who can answer your questions, explain the eligibility requirements, and walk you through the application process. Note, priority for the Rental IDA is given to individuals transitioning out of homelessness.
Average number of IDAs opened each year, in the 3 most recent years: 16-20, across 7 Goodwill locations
Maximum match per asset: Up to $9000 for Assistive Technology, Debt Repayment, Education, and Vehicle. Up to $6000 for Rental. Up to $3000 for Emergency Savings.
Other services provided: The Prosperity Program provides access to training and education programs, coordinates a personalized financial plan including budgeting, debt reduction, savings and beginner investment information, and connects individuals with income supports and Tax Aide services. Our Job Connections services are open to the public, currently by appointment, and offer assistance with resumes, applications, cover letters, networking strategies, interviewing techniques, community resource referrals and much more. Online workshops are also offered each month to help individuals learn about job searching techniques, overcoming a criminal background barrier, interviewing, and workplace success.
