Oregon IDA Initiative releases latest evaluation report

Date

The Oregon Individual Development Account (IDA) Initiative is pleased to release the latest evaluation of our efforts.  The evaluation, conducted by Portland State University’s Regional Research Institute shows a continued track record of success and long term financial behavior changes by participants. Since 2008, over 1,775 individuals have successfully graduated from the Initiative and more than 3,000 more are currently saving towards their goals.  The Oregon IDA Initiative is one of the largest and most successful IDA programs in the nation, and together with partners, we are excited to continue the growth of this important Initiative, and to help more Oregonians build financial resilience and access pathways to opportunity.  Over the past two years this proven and effective program has worked to reach even deeper into Oregon expand to additional rural communities.  We’ve also worked to reach even more underserved communities, including communities of color, individuals returning to the community after incarceration, and families experiencing barriers to stability.    Throughout the Initiative, the evaluation shows dramatic and positive changes in financial behaviors including changes to saving and budgeting habits; improved financial circumstances; and a sense of confidence.  You can read the full evaluation report on the Oregon IDA Initiative website, along with success stories of many participants.
